Won’t ‘spoil’ Rukum murder case: Attorney General

Attorney General Agni Kharel says there is not going to be any weak point in prosecuting folks behind the alleged homicide of 5 Dalit males in Rukum West after an investigation.
Speaking in a gathering of the Law, Justice, and Human Rights Committee within the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Kharel stated, “Trust me there wouldn’t be any spoiling within the case. There wouldn’t be any shortcomings within the investigation and prosecution.”
Kharel, nevertheless, maintained that among the media had exaggerated the incident. “I’ve been following YouTube movies and on-line media. Evidence supporting their claims has not been collected but,” he stated.
During the assembly, Nepal Police IG Thakur Prasad Gyawaly stated the police arrested 18 individuals in connection to the case after receiving an FIR towards 20. He stated additional investigation was underway.
Earlier, on May 23, some youth from Jajarkot had gone to Soti of the neighbouring Rukum West district for an inter-caste marriage ceremony between a Dalit man and a Thakuri teenage lady. The kin of the lady have been accused of killing the proposed bridegroom and his mates saying the inter-caste knot was fallacious. Five our bodies had been discovered within the Bheri whereas one remains to be lacking.
