Three involved in jewellery shop theft land in police net

KATHMANDU: Police right now arrested three individuals in reference to the theft at a jewelry store that happened about one and a half months in the past.

The arrestees have been recognized as Milan Tamang (17) of Pokhara Metropolis-10, Kaski district; Prem Tamang (31) of Tarakeshwar Rural Municipality-4, Nuwakot district and Rishi Muni Kumar (25) of Motihari Sugauli-6 in India. The former had been staying in Gongabu space in Kathmandu whereas two others in Thamel.

Police arrested them by way of a drive launched by the Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) to minimise theft and housebreaking throughout nationwide lockdown imposed to regulate the unfold of coronavirus an infection.

According to Information Officer on the MPCD, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ishwor Karki, a group of safety personnel deployed from the division arrested the trio for his or her involvement in a theft at Sarkaridhara-based Nor Jewellery store in Kathmandu, on the night time of April 18.

Teenager Tamang has been arrested on theft cost whereas two others on transacting the stolen gadgets, police knowledgeable. The gold and silver jewelry price Rs 223,720 have been stolen from the store.

Police have confiscated the jewelry gadgets from their possession.

According to police, the accused can be charged in accordance with authorized proceedings.
