PHOTOS: Youths demonstrate at Naxal against govt's lackluster response to COVID-19
KATHMU, June 11: A gaggle of unbiased youths staged demonstration at Naxal in Kathmu, on Thursday afternoon asking the federal government to scrap the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) settlement signed with US authorities exp the scope of Polymerase Chain Reaction exams (PCR) for coronavirus.
Police used pressure when numerous demonstrators have been chanting slogans in opposition to the federal government with placards studying “Disease or starvation?”, “We do not want MCC; do not promote the nation”, “No transparency, no farsightedness, why is there at all times incompetency?” “Sanitize the federal government.”
Police personnel lobbed tear fuel canisters used water cannons in opposition to the demonstrators although the protest was comparatively peaceable.
The protest comes at a time when the Oli-led authorities has come beneath fireplace for failing to exp the scope of PCR exams for COVID-19.
The protestors urged the federal government to cease the Rapid Diagnostic Test questioning its reliability.
Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Police, Kathmu, stated that they have been pressured to intervene as a result of the protestors violated the lockdown orders entered the restricted space introduced by the Kathmu District Administration.
