The House of Representatives immediately shaped a nine-member Special Parliamentary Committee below the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) lawmaker Devendra Paudel to probe the alleged killings of Dalit youths in Rukum (West) village lately.

Other members of the committee are Ekbal Miya, Durga Paudel, Parbati Kumari Bishunkhe, Prakash Rasaili, Bimala Bishwakarma, Maheshwar Jung Gahatraj, Min Bahadur Bishwakarma and Ram Sahay Yadav. The committee has been tasked with submitting its report inside 30 days, in response to Parliamentary Secretariat Secretary Gopalnath Yogi.

Six Dalit youths misplaced their lives in a Rukum (West) village after they have been allegedly attacked and chased by a bunch of villagers on May 23.

The incident occurred when the Dalit youths had gone to Soti village of Rukum (West) to assist their buddy Nawaraj Biswokarma, 21, of Bheri Municipality in Jajarkot district, marry an ‘higher caste’ woman from Soti village.

The boy had gone to Rukum together with 18 of his pals as he needed to elope with the woman who’s from the ‘higher caste Malla’ clan.

The group was, nonetheless, confronted by locals of Soti village, together with ward Chair Dambar Bahadur Malla and the woman’s household.

They have been allegedly crushed up and chased in direction of the Bheri River, by which six of them allegedly jumped to their dying.
