Nepal Airlines operated 22 chartered flights during lockdown

Kathmandu, June 2

Although the federal government had restricted operations of home and worldwide flights within the wake of nationwide lockdown, the nationwide flag service, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), has been conducting chartered flights below particular circumstances.

According to the Corporation, a complete of 22 worldwide and 11 home flights have operated to this point. Of the entire chartered worldwide flights, 9 have been cargo flights, of which six took-off for Guangzhou whereas one flight every carried cargo from Changsha, Beijing and Kunming. All of those flights have been carried out to convey medicines and gear for the federal government to reply to Covid-19 disaster.

Likewise, 13 passenger flights have been carried out throughout this lockdown interval. Among the passenger chartered flights, six took off for Japan, three for Hong Kong, two flights to Australia, and one every to Bangladesh and India.

Among the passenger chartered flights, flights to Japan carried Nepalis working and finding out in Japan. Meanwhile, different flights have been repatriation flights.

Furthermore, NAC has been scheduled to fly to Australia on June 8; and to Hong Kong on June 3, 4, and 5.

Meanwhile, the home flights have been operated to gather swab samples for Covid-19 PCR checks.
