Kathmandu sees another protest against govt’s Covid-19 response
Kathmandu, June 11
Youth representing numerous sectors staged a mass protest outdoors the prime minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Thursday. Police used tear gasoline shells and water cannons to disperse the protestors.
The same protest was organised in Kathmandu simply two days in the past.
The protestors demanded that the federal government guarantee transparency within the spendings made within the Country’s Covid-19 response, and cease speedy diagnostic exams.
SSP Shyam Lal Gyawali, the chief of the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, says some protestors have been detained as they demonstrated within the restricted zone.
