KATHMANDU: Firewood and timber smuggling has reportedly been on the rise from Shivapuri National Park through the lockdown interval.
According to the Park’s chief conservation officer Dil Bahadur Purja, round 100 individuals have already been arrested on the costs of timber smuggling prior to now week.
Some of them had been reported as saying that they had been compelled to gather firewood, citing scarcity of cooking fuel available in the market, Purja mentioned.
