Digging of roads banned from June 15 to September 16
KATHMANDU, JUNE 9
After receiving solutions and suggestions from numerous quarters to cease rebuilding and pitching the roads through the wet season, the federal government has banned the digging of roads for not less than three months from June 15 to September 16.
The Federal Road Supervision and Monitoring Office, Kathmandu, beneath Department of Roads (DoR), has acknowledged that roads can’t be dug beneath any pretext throughout this era.
Keshav Kumar Sharma, director basic of DoR, mentioned the division has banned digging of roads to hold out any form of work by some other authority.
Roads are often dug for the aim of laying ingesting water pipes, sewerage pipes, electrical energy wires and phone cables, amongst others. “Excavation of roads throughout wet season has been stopped as they can’t be restored instantly which causes lots of drawback.”
He acknowledged that no street excavation shall be allowed for the interval talked about above because the situation of roads deteriorate extra when they’re dug through the wet season.
The workplace has acknowledged that strict motion shall be taken towards anyone discovered digging any street as per the Public Roads Act.
