Air Arabia flight carrying 168 Nepalis touches down at TIA

KATHMANDU: An Air Arabia flight carrying Nepali nationals from United Arab Emirates (UAE) has arrived in Kathmandu, this night.

The aircraft that landed on the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) was carrying 168 passengers.

Earlier at present, a Myanmar Air Force plane carrying 26 stranded Nepali nationals had arrived.

According to Spokesperson at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Dev Chandra Lal Karna, Myanmar Air Force (MAF 003) plane, Fokker 70, had landed on the airport at round 11:00 am.

The flights have introduced the individuals dwelling akin to the federal government’s plan to evacuate Nepalis stranded overseas.

As the federal government has but to finalise the problems concerning holding centres, immigration and flight schedules, the precise repatriation course of will start from June 10.

Eight plane of Nepal Airlines Corporation and Himalaya Airlines have been designated to function from June 10 on one-aircraft-one-destination foundation, in keeping with joint secretary at MoCTCA, Suresh Acharya.

The evacuation course of shall be carried out giving prime precedence to those that have been granted amnesty, whose visas have expired, who’ve been staying in repatriation centres, who’ve already obtained permission to return dwelling, who’ve misplaced relations in Nepal or have to return for attending final rites and different such capabilities in reminiscence of the departed and lastly, those that have misplaced their jobs.

The authorities has set a goal of rescuing round 40,000 Nepalis stranded overseas within the first section.
